Urgence-santé Québec

Description

Urgences-santé is responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency services to the population of the Montreal and Laval regions, which includes more than 2.4 million citizens spread over 744 square kilometers.

As the only public organization in Quebec, Urgences-santé handles more than 40% of emergency medical calls, making it the largest ambulance service in the province.

All of the organization's activities are focused on its mission to provide the population with excellent services that reduce mortality and morbidity associated with medical emergencies.

This is achieved through two components:

• a health communication center that handles some 375,000 emergency medical calls per year;

• pre-hospital emergency care provided by paramedics.

Urgences-santé operates from three sites: the North Operations Center in Laval and the East and West Operations Centers located on the island of Montreal.
