Founded in 1873, Polytechnique Montréal, an engineering university, is one of Canada's leading engineering education and research institutions. Polytechnique Montréal is located on the campus of the Université de Montréal, the largest French-speaking university complex in America. With nearly 57,000 graduates, Polytechnique has trained over 22% of practicing engineers who are members of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). It offers more than 120 training programs. Polytechnique has more than 300 professors and welcomes more than 10,000 students. Its overall annual budget is $300 million, including a research budget of $100 million.
