She has over 17 years of experience in financial institutions and the public sector. She has been with BNP Paribas since 2015. The new president previously held the position of Head of Financial Institutions Coverage in Canada, where she was responsible for managing international relationships and developing the client franchise in the Americas region.
Before joining BNP Paribas, Sonja Volpe, who holds a master's degree in business administration from McMaster University in Ontario, was a senior banker at Citibank Canada, where she worked for almost 15 years.
