Mélanie Joly, born on January 16, 1979, in Montreal, is a Canadian lawyer and politician. A member of the Liberal Party of Canada, she has been Minister of Foreign Affairs in Justin Trudeau's cabinet since October 26, 2021. On March 14, 2025, Canada's new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, reappointed her to this position in his cabinet, before naming her Minister of Industry on May 13.

She previously served as Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages from November 4, 2015, to July 18, 2018, and then as Minister of Tourism, Official Languages, and La Francophonie until November 20, 2019. She has represented Ahuntsic-Cartierville (a riding in Montreal) in the House of Commons since the 2015 federal election.
