Born and raised in Montreal, Michael Casia is married and has two children. He has been President and CEO of Organon Canada since its launch in June 2021. Under his leadership, the Canadian team has focused on improving the health and well-being of women in Canada and strengthening the Canadian healthcare system through cost-effective solutions offered by its broad range of biosimilar products.
Michael is an advocate for the adoption of biosimilar products and is currently president of Biosimilars Canada, the national association representing the biosimilar medicines industry in Canada. He is also a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and regularly speaks on topics related to these issues. His commitment is reflected in Organon Canada's achievement of the highest gender equality certification from Women in Governance.
Prior to his current role, Michael supported Organon's global CEO, Kevin Ali, as Chief of Staff. He was general manager of Merck in Finland and the Baltic countries and has held positions of increasing responsibility at the global, regional, and local levels in nine countries.
Michael holds a master's degree in business administration from Columbia Business School in New York and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from McGill University.
