"Governance Essentials" Training: A Springboard for Today's Leaders

Since 2018, more than 400 graduates have benefited from this recognized program, which covers the financial, ethical, legal, and strategic issues of governance.

Concrete and Collaborative Learning

Divided into six interactive workshops, the training takes place in person, allowing for privileged networking among participants. Each cohort is limited to 25 people to encourage exchanges and collective learning. Led by experts and leaders in the field, the workshops address essential themes such as organizational strategy, legal responsibilities, critical reading of financial statements, and the role of board chair. A final board simulation allows participants to put their learning into practice in a realistic and stimulating context.

The Program:

Workshop 1: How to Approach the Strategic Aspect and Major Issues How and why should board members be involved in the process related to strategy and strategic decisions?

Workshop 2: Understanding Your Legal Duties, Risks, and Responsibilities From a legal perspective, how do you ensure that your director mandate, roles, and responsibilities comply with expectations, your duties, and obligations?

Workshop 3: Understanding the Financial Model What are the most relevant questions to ask management about financial statements (e.g., disclosure, fraud detection, etc.) when you are a board member?

Workshop 4: Board Chair: Issues and Challenges What are the roles of the board chair in relation to other board members as well as senior management?

Workshop 5: For a Dynamic and High-Performing Board How to foster harmonious collaboration between the board of directors and senior management while energizing discussions to create value?
